Labor Day weekend saw us take a trip to see family members on the west side of Wisconsin. On Saturday we decided to take a road trip to Minnesota. Our original destination was going to be Valley Fair Amusement Park – which is located in Scott County (a new county for us) as well as only three or four miles from Carver County – which would be another new one for us. However the oppressive heat and threat of rain derailed those plans. So it was decided we’d go to the Mall of America instead.
However… since it wasn’t that far away we decided to hit those two counties anyway. We actually drove right by Valley Fair in Shakopee. We took HWY 169 across the river and entered Scott County. Then we headed west a few miles before turning north on HWY 101 across the Minnesota River again and entered Carver County. A prior Google street view showed that there were county signs for both. But due to major construction on the bridge the signs were nowhere to be found. So I was unable to get pictures of either. But rest assured, we were there! Instead here are some pictures from the Mall.
These two counties were a bonus for us as visiting them was not anticipated. So that’s awesome! What's next? We have a September long weekend trip planned for Georgia and South Carolina. We’ll we'll see you then!
